DREAMS!!

You can dream about your future.
Your present is always a nightmare.
When the future arrives,
It becomes your present.
And since the present is always a nightmare,
Your dreams turn into nightmares.
Do you still dream?
Or do you fear the nightmare?
Do dreams always turn into nightmares?
And why do nightmares always come true?
Do dreams ever come true?
Or are dreams unconscious expectations?
I know expectations are never met.
Because life is not all rosy.
To reach the petals,
You have to clear the thorns,
Sure to bleed all the way.
Isn’t the rose red enough?
Or imbibes more blood to quench its thirst?
Are the bloody petals worth it?
To bear the suffering of the thorns?
Even though the dreams are unpretentious,
and expectations mundane.

What is Freindship?

What is friendship? I have read lots of versions, but at the end of it all the question still goes unanswered. Isn’t friendship a relationship that is entered into by two people and it is only as close as they choose to make? Do you have the right expect the same respect that you show without being termed as over expectation? Is friendship based on worthiness or likeness of mind? What is friendship?

Knowing someone so well that you can predict their next move, emotion or reaction?
Being there in times of distress when everyone else leaves? But then do you have the right to expect him / her to remember you in times of happiness? Why is that you are welcome in times of distress and darkness but the next day when the sun rises and it’s all bright again you tend to fade away from their lives?

As a friend, do you have the right to expect the same treatment as he / she treats his / her other friends? Do you believe the reasoning that you are closer to them than others? Why are people closer to the heart overshadowed by the mass crowd? But then you wonder, is it worth being so close to someone’s heart when the others are given more importance? Do you have the right to expect the same importance, if not greater? But why triviality?

Do you have the right to expect the same gleeful tone, smile and joy that others enjoy and you are deprived of? Can expecting the same treatment be termed as over expectation? Do you have the right to get hurt or is it because you over expected? Where does friendship end and love start? Is there a difference between the both? Can friendship upgrade to love? Can love come down to friendship?

Is caring for someone so much that you would do anything to keep that face smiling worth it? Is it worth sacrificing you life and family? Is all the hurt worth it even though it makes no difference to them? Do you quit or continue hoping that one day…? Do you walk away when the answer is no? Do you hope even when the future is decided in the present without giving you a chance? Or do you ignore rejection?

Do you agree to reasoning that you are worth more? How do you explain to them that tomorrow is far away and there will be no tomorrow if there in no today? How do you tell them that they cannot be there in my tomorrow if they are not in my today? When the tomorrow is already decided by them, can you live with the memories of the past or do you die everyday with the memories?

Am I still talking about friendship? Have I answered the question I had started off with or have I raised many more? Friendship, Love, Trust, Hurt, Sacrifice, Tears, Happiness, Sorrow?? How are they linked? Should they be linked? Why is it that all my sentences have ended with a question marks rather than full stops? Is friendship so complicated? Is it worth making friends or would you rather be alone? Hmm… which makes me wonder… what is life??? The bible quotes: Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Does it take ones life to show love and friendship? Is that worth it? But then again are these questions worth it?
